Excellent ramen, but the customer service is consistently really bad. This time: We were told to wait 20 minutes until 8:30 to place a takeout order, only to call back at the exact requested time and be told the kitchen was closed. I explained that we just waited the request 20 minutes in the car on our way home and told to call at 8:30. No luck. On a previous visit for my daughter's 10th birthday, we were told a completely empty restaurant couldn't accommodate a table of six. I love supporting local Elmwood businesses, but trying to actually get fed and treated well at SATO seems a feat.

We walked in and were seated at the bar area. We ordered chicken curry, Gyudon, and salad with chicken chashu. All of them were good, and my parents really liked chicken curry and gyudon. The dressing for the salad was too salty and there were some wilted leaves. But the place had a good vibe and overall good food.

After some browsing on door dash we saw this place was only two miles from our hotel so we opted to check it out in person instead. When we arrived there were no tables available which was expected since we strolled in at around 6pm on a Saturday. So we decided to sit at the bar where we were promptly served waters and our drink orders taken. My spouse ordered the Sato Mule (Delicious! I love fuji apple) and me an ice cold Sapporo. The staff were very friendly and attentive, I ordered the Chirashi and my spouse who is vegetarian ordered the Okonomiyaki, we split an order of the addictive cucumber. Everything was delicious! My spouse was very pleased with the vegetarian and vegan options and we left happy! Next time we're in the area we'll make sure to have a reservation because we will definitely be back! Apologies for the half eaten photos, we were ravenous!

I LOVE this Japanese restaurant! The staff were friendly and helpful and did not wait a second to get us a table. I got the sato ramen (with cooked shrimp and soft egg),the shrimp tempura roll, and the miso caramel donuts. They were amazing! It also has a great ambiance and jazzy music. Highly recommend!

Sato Ramen may be a βhypedβ restaurant, but it certainly doesnβt live up to the reputation. We arrived at 6:00 PM and there were already no tables available, so we were seated at the counter. It took nearly 15 minutes before a server even approached us, and friendliness was definitely not part of the service. The music was loud and completely out of sync with the restaurantβs theme. The dishes took a long time to arrive, and nothing stood out in terms of flavor. The Japanese curry shrimp was extremely spicyβso much so that I couldnβt even finish it. Overall, a very disappointing experience. The food quality, ambiance, and service were all poor, yet the prices were far above what the restaurant delivers. I do not recommend it!
